June fishing opportunities, wader/boot sale, river report.

Weather seems to be calming down, bass action picking up, trout action is steady.

Locally the river smallmouth fishing has been decent.  The Conneaut seems to be the best so far this Spring for these big lake runners.  Tandem rigs with a streamer and crawfish have been good.  Presque Isle bay has been tough for the shore bound angler so far.  However any day could be great at this wonderful fishery.  Intermediate or sink tip lines are recommended for Presque Isle.  PA trout angling has been very good.  Bug activity has been excellent with green drakes, sulphurs, march browns, BWO’s, isonychias, golden stones, and tan caddis.  Trout are feeding well both above and below the surface.  Local largemouth angling is good, with hungry bass looking for an easy meal. Streamers and surface bugs have both been hot.  Subsurface has been a little better, but if your like me, its hard to resist that surface bite.  MI trout angling has been getting better as well, with water temps warming up just enough too get bugs moving, and trout taking notice.  If you are heading on any destination trips in the near future make sure to stop in and get geared up.  Preparation, and having the proper equipment, is the difference between a good trip, and a great trip.  Let the well traveled staff at Chagrin River Outfitters help make sure you trip is a great one.  Hope everyone is having a great start to summer!
